Do you want discussion?

Who should be the new host of Today - channel 9's flagship program after tipping point?

I might even watch if he was the host.

Somebody who is smart, witty, affable, both universally loved and respected. Somebody who knows alot about many things and can articulate elegantly appealing to both the elite and the commoner. Somebody who understands history, economics, politics, small carburettors and the foibles of humanity, yet can say it like it is without inducing hatred and contempt. Somebody universally adored for both their intellect and humility.

Clearly the only candidate is Carantoc.

"The rise of creator media has been a boon for those who peddle bull****, as bias and bull**** are core features of what wins our attention on social media.

It turns out that when you migrate our entire news media ecosystem on to platforms that map on to our emotional wiring, you are inadvertently building Karl’s podcast. To be successful in this attention economy, the platforms have decided that anger, outrage and controversy rules. That negative attention counts as much as positive engagement. That one must act like a cancelled free speech warrior, even when one may not be. In other words, it’s the algorithms, stupid."

Or

People are sick of leftard BS from the guardian, ABC, channel 9,10,7,sbs the AFL the NRL, every newspaper, the conversation and MSN.

Btw your guardian article seems to be focusing on "negative attention" as much as every other platform.

I think the guardian and all other established msm platforms are feeling like their business models are under threat from podcasters and other independant journalists,

Listening to the guardian bleat about the algorithm like its some sort of biased overlord dragging people away is rubbish. The algorithm works the same way for the left as it does for right.

Whoever replaces Karl will need to ooze monoculture. It's the future!

"Trust in science has collapsed — right? The evidence says that it’s not necessarily so. From a global perspective, public trust in science and scientists is high. Trust has dropped in certain groups, notably among Republican-leaning people in the United States. And research in the United Kingdom shows that the proportion of people who have “a lot” of trust in science tends to be lower among politically right-leaning groups than those on the left. In many countries, people are also increasingly questioning definitive evidence on divisive issues such as vaccines, partly because scientific information is being drowned out online."

No idea what trust in science or lack there-of has to do with Channel Nine's Tipping Point, Today show or Karl Stefanovic.

Maybe, I suppose, the thrill of predicting what is gonna fall during Tipping Point might amuse some, but it ain't quite the same as analysing, say, a multi-storey building tipping after being struck by an aeroplane or two.

This whole thread seems to be unravelling, slowly, strand-by-strand.

The initial claim was that Today is Channel Nine's top rating show after Tipping Point. But even Channel Nine says this isn't so. Apparently Channel Nine claims it's top rating shows are NRL Grand Final, Married at First Sight, The Block, A Current Affair, Golden Bachelor and Love Island Australia. When you have quality entertainment like that who even needs Karl ?

I know... why doesn't channel 9 apoint Jillian Segal for the Today show anchor. This antisemitism thing really need far more attention.

It's hardly mentioned anymore.

Is she Aussie enough though ?

If we want to bring about a utopian monoculture, present news and current affairs in a lighthearted way, and deliver cutting political and social righteousness not seen since the last days of The Project, then perhaps Bush Barbie could be the perfect replacement ?

The problem for Channel 9's Today program is that Australia has a lack of young unashamed monoculture, zionist, pedophile billionaires . Someone who can relate with their audience.

I was thinking John Michael Houson, Mark Latham, Alan Jones, or that guy from 'Hey Dad' but they are too old. Plenty of contenders with some suitable attributes.

If there was someone young with all those attributes- that would work for them.
