Suffocation isn't the nicest option though - a quick smack on the head with a piece of timber is much more humane. Of course, in order to minimise the mess, it's still best done in a plastic bag!

Plastic bags are a good start, but then many of them do get used more than once before being dumped. Those ones will be replaced with other non-supermarket plastic bags [as cranky suggests] which just moves/hides the problem.

Plastic waste is a much bigger global problem than a few million supermarket bags.

You can put your rubbish in a rubbish bin, and when it's full empty it into the wheelie bin - if it gets smelly hose it out - why the need for a bin liner?

That's how I empty my teapot, straight into the garden.

Its about time to be brave like Bunnings and just DO IT, no bags , boxes recycled customers happy.
I think it could and should be done, sooner not later

Yeah.. since they stopped holding 6 packs of beer together with those plastic handcuff things the dolphins have really been struggling for entertainment!

Perhaps we could give the kittens to the dolphins to play with?

Service is for people who should be hiring a contractor!
It's diY as in do it Yourself..

Besides, it's not the workers fault that they're still at school and don't know what aisle the left handed screwdrivers are kept in - or which department is supposed to have the long weights.

Sheesh.. next you'll be expecting someone to put petrol in your car at a Service station!

It is their decision to run and hide when you are about to ask for a left handed screwdriver... which usually ends with FIY (find it yourself) and getting a long weight instead...

Sounds like you have been to a Bunnings on a Saturday or Sunday also

Yeah we have native lizards and birds and we have a cat, that is locked in the house every night and that has also been desexed.
If pet owners were more responsible there wouldn't be a problem with unwanted kittens.

But they're not, so there are plastic bags.

your a dill , simply buy righthanded screwdrivers, pull the handle off and put it back on the other way around the I have trouble finding the shelf for the short stays, the long weights are kept near the checkout, with the carboard boxes
