CD discs suspended on string or whatever have worked well for Pigeons. The essential Simon and Garfunkel I
worked particularly well , I might add .

It may depend upon the positioning but I've seen the owls being a total fail for sparrows.

Those owls dont work . I tried this . I knew this when two miners were fighting over sitting on it .
The plastic sheet eagles in a thin stick work.

Well if you are still in WA give Department of Agriculture a call and they will take care of your sparrow problem...

Most urban cats these days are too fat, lazy and slow to catch anything. Most of the birds around my house dive bomb my cat. Best he can do is run for cover.


i've heard laser pointers work well on crows. Point it at them a few times and they never come back. I wonder if it works on sparrows?

I googled 'sparrow trap' and made one, it works a treat. It's up to you what you do with them when you catch them.

My Nan used to make a good Sparrow Pie, during the war.
Kitchen colander, a stick, bit of string and a few bread crumbs were the tools.

Are you sure they are sparrows??

Sparrows are declared vermin in W.A. - the Ag. Department hate these things with a vengeance!!

They are shot on sight - Ag. Dept. shooters are the only legal users of suppressors within W.A. - this is how serious these pests are taken.

Ag. Department have even been known to track sparrows back to their roosting tree, and watch until they know all the flock are there [which can take days - to weeks], then claymore the tree!

Rubber snakes work better than plastic owls

...yeah true that it is a first world problem, but aren't most issues in our lives. This is just the lawn mower cover after one day.



I won't bother sending pics of the boat cover and pavement around that area as you probably get the idea. This was also occurring around the bbq area and bar.

Plus, I've got better things to do with my time than clean sh!t up every day.
