If that's an official time, then he's beaten Bjorn for the open ocean record! But this is an average speed over a 500m course, not a spot top speed.
Bjorn Dunkerbeck is flying on the Speed Course and sets 2 new speed records!
At the Walvis Bay Speed Week, Namibia, Bjorn Dunkerbeck (Neil Pryde, T1,Proof) has set a new open water World Speed Record for windsurfing boards at 44,35 knots.
In 30-35 knot wind conditions, Bjorn set the record using his production Neil Pryde RS4 Speedseeker 5.8.
In the >amateur class, Henne Redenkamp set a new African record at 42,99 knots.
