IS there anyone out there with a good news story about getting back to surfing and kite boarding after knee replacement? Have been told I need a replacement, but that I may get only 90 degrees movement in the joint which may not be enough to jump up on the board. Appreciate any positive feedback.

Friend of mine has had a knee replacement and surfs regularly on a mal and SUP. She reckons that she is wearing the pad out in-between the joint fairly quickly, but from what she understands this is a fairly simple retread op.

Her only regret is that she didnt learn to kite pre-op as now she is a little nervous about thrashing herself too much in the early days on learning on a kite.

Aparently you are only good for have the knee replaced twice. After that....

All the best with your op!

Thanks for the feedback chi thouse. Had another positive response on the beach this morning too. Think I just have to bite the bullet and do it.

My mum got her hip replaced & its got ceramic on the wearing parts & it comes with a lifetime guarantee they reckon it only wears out at less than a micron a year but I'm sure its the top of the market. Maybe you only get what you pay for . But six weeks later she was travelling again & is now back on the endless winter circuit skiing again.
