Why indeed. Not only misconceived but utterly futile.
However, I for one am not about to discourage them.
Actually it is kinda funny how people get weird ideas like that. I remember the more heated days of feminism when some women seriously believed that non physical gender differences were all socially generated. Then they grew up, had babies, and discovered what their mothers already knew. Little girls and little boys really are different no matter what you do to them. Little boys CAN be made to play with Barbie dolls but what they do with them is frightening.
