Its Friday again and time to resurrect the Friday Forum. Don't know where it will go but I will start by trying to link from other threads the topics Political. Gastronomical and Sexual.
Political.....Many people these days whinge about their welfare being inadequate. When I was a university student we would get the equivalent of a welfare cheque (our TEAS allowance) paid monthly. On payday we (a collective of engineering students) would pay our rent, go to the supermarket and make bulk purchase of cabbage and lambs fry and spend the balance on beer. We could live like kings. The lambs fry leads into.
Gastronomical........ In those times you could purchase a mixed grill at every pub that contained lambs fry in the mix, along with bacon, sausages, chops and steak. Cisco raised deep fried icecream and in Scotland or Glasgow anyway you can get deep fried Mars bars in batter with your chips. The link between Gastronomical and Sexual may be tenuous but if its good enough to eat.

Sexual.........

NSFW, changed to a link

linking straight back to Political. Should the bhurka be banned. I am with the French and say yes.

I was told that when at a dinner party enjoying the gastronomical delights served by your host, there are two topics that should never be discussed being politics and religion...

That would leave sex, but that inevitably would lead to a discussion of sexual politics and the gender imbalance in society. Political topics such as freedom of speech and expression, choice and the traditional roles that societies place on their population, as given in a religious text.

The hosts would get upset because the discussion is getting more heated and the (unannounced) vegetarian / vegan wants to leave as the vegies served with the mixed grill were served using the same servers used for the meat.

The meat eating beer drinkers (probably engineers), have finished their supplies, are now drinking all the red wine, discussing the wine producing regions of France where the burqua is now banned. Others comment how it may be a good thing in Australia to stop all those nasty foreigners taking all our jobs or to stop them going on welfare, whilst the remainder of the Australian population is controlled due to the chemtrails overhead and the flouride in the water.

Dessert is served and then one of the guests (probably an engineer) might ask what might be worn underneath a bhurka...

Greenpat/evil. Apologies for the explicit picture. But please note that I have only "quoted" pictures already up on the Seabreeze website (funniest images) for the censored picture.
The posting was not intended as gratuitous exploitation of the female form. More in following Gestalts comment last week. The picture is in my mind at least a classic example of the use of sexuality to make a political statement. Or to put it at its most basic form. Sex Sells.

Hey - where is this sale you speak of?

Diver is on the money. A dinner party is a powder keg these days. Best to keep it simple - just agree to no discussion, throw ya keys in the jar and hope you don't get the wifey that has let the good life take hold.

BTW - never invite an engineer to dinner. They drink the place dry, rabbit on about protecting the billionaires, tell us all to be grateful they have saved us from the GFC (by sending our earth overseas super cheap then buying back shiny and likely to bust withing 13 months), complain that the table has a short leg and is unstable, start feeding the missus all sorts of (expensive) ideas on how to remodel the house and then leave oil stains on the driveway as they shamble off back to mtheir Mc Mansion in their 4WD.

EDIT:

didn't see the pic until just now.. those are lovely brown mounds!

I don't really agree that women should be hidden behind a burqa or hijab, but that is the choice of that woman (just like a jewish bloke wearing a skull-cap or a catholic nun wearing a similar garb to the burqa) and I respect the right to chose.

If you are gonna testufy in court it should be a simple matter to be taken aside by a female copper (just as a strip search would be) and identified in a private siuation then allowed to give evidence in the state of dress more appropriate to their beliefs/modesty.

Getfunky. I think the sale may be at David Jones.... Or is that the "Sex Costs Heaps" sale.

Thanks for the headsup.

Nothing against the images, but a lot of us are able to browse the forums at work and would like to be able to keep it that way.

I think that Getfunky might agree. Your solution to move the image rather than censor the image is a good one and is perfectly acceptable. It does add an interesting twist to the topic however. Just what is acceptable internet use in the workplace. I too am at work but have no one looking over my shoulder.
I do think that the former David Jones chief executives sexual misconduct with staff was totally unacceptable. I wonder what he looked at on the internet during business hours.

I think he was too busy making inappropriate comments to the real life staff to have time for the internet

Probably has a PA to check, and provide a written report on, stuff like that
