Haha poling place

I just found out my vote won't count cos I got my address wrong when I did absentee. Would be so much easier if I changed my address when I moved (like the law says I have to...)

Now if the Shooters and Fishers Party don't get in it will be my fault

Looks like a landslide victory for Libs.
31 to 19 at the moment.

Great, we can look forward to more sh!t like bulldozing Riverside Dr to make a quay nobody wanted, to benefit big business only ......... but no water, double power bills but can't afford to replace the powerpoles that fall over, build a massive footy stadium but claim no money to buy a railway carriage for peak hour......................and a Premier in Cottesloe who enjoys the seabreeze and says 'you people don't need aircon...."

Did anyone else notice how much propaganda the Libs put out this time round?

Posters of the local Lib member on every street corner, the polling place had plastic advertising cable tied to just about every available fence post, and 99% of it was Liberal. My mailbox was inundated with Lib pamphlets as well.

Not surprising that they won

Feckin' sigh... I don't want to sound like I love the arrogant twat Colin... but isn't one of the Libs policies to create the biggest national park in Aus in the Kimberley...

Perhaps that is what you mean? Goodbye Kimberley, you are now free from the things subasurf wants to do to you!

Uh no, if the gas refinery at JPP goes ahead as Colin wants then the Kimberely coast will be ruined. The new national park proposal is smoke and mirrors so people turn a blind eye to them trashing everything else, including the most important humpback whale aggregation site in the world.

Yes I did actually. Including non-addressed junk mail into my letterbox - ignoring my NO junk mail sign!
Only the fkn Libs propa-dropas ignore the no junk mail sign. The other mobs' droppers either respect my wishes, or don't have the $$$ to get out there in the 1st place.

BTW, The local GLib candidate styles himself as a goood family man. Interesting when my wife recalls him approaching her out of the blue, leering and making extremely inappropriate sexual comments to her some years ago.

I did note the chrome-domed, smug idiot had one of his most prominant bus stop posters decorated with an old school Cawk n balls for a week or two! LOL.

No its wasn't me. Perhaps another of his formerly charmed female voters had the pleasure of meeting the real guy behind the posters?

politics is a very unfair business. Condolences to friends who lost their seats and congrats to those who got in. Regardless of the result we live in an amazing country where elections are fair and violence free, and the day after the result we all get back to our normal business with full bellies, good health and education and a standard of living the envy of the rest of the world.

The results are in and there wasn't too many surprises but I am very surprised that there was very little made of the Burswood (read Crown) Stadium !!

As if one of Australias richest people needs a free kick like a semi-captive pre and post game audience for his bars, eateries and gaming room. The taxpayers of WA have just secured the shareholders of Crown a big boost for zero outlay. I wonder if the small business operators around Subi are happy.

Lucky I prefer rugby union to AFL but the one or two games a season of AFL that I go to will stop in (useless) protest....

Subiaco is inadequate for the giant that is afl in wa. Thousands of people can't go to the game every week because of it. Sure your right about filling packers pockets even more but we need a bigger and better stadium. Subi just doesn't cut it anymore.

^^^ never yet seen it full.
How about AFL and big business pay for it?

Can't claim that there is no money for critical infrastructure etc in a boom time, yet spend freely on stadium, entertainment centre, Eliz Quay etc etc which are luxuries.

You are on the money there Mark,

Why shouldnt big business pay- they will be making the profits out of it all- not mugs like you or me.

I loved the way Bob Jane put his own money into Calder Park when he built the circuit there- and didnt expect the taxpayer to fund it for him.

I was under the impression that a new stadium built at Subi would have the same capacity as one at Burswood and according to one member of the committee that originally recommended Kitchner(?) Park in Subi as the preferred site could even have the same design, so I guess the new Subi could have cut it.....

I was saying to the lads at work, that if there really is a need for a new stadium in Perth- and it's economcial for a decent return over capital invested.

Private enterprise should bear the risk and develope the Burswood site. As much as I love afl and would love to see West Coast win a few games in a new stadium.

I don't see why the Goverment needs to take the risk of another cost blowout.

Speaking of cost blowouts, how much do you think that metro rail would have cost in the end? 20Billion?

Sure, I give credit where credit is due.

It all just seemed quite one-sided, that's all.

^^^^^^ I must live in the opposite suburb.
Our polling place was completely covered in Labor plastic hoardings cable tied to the school fence.
Compared to the non stop blaring Metronet message I thought the Lib advertising was pretty subdued.

All a matter of perspective I guess

Most of the materials I got in my letter box were Liberal...

It's really amazing, despite the arrogance, lack of social licence to operate (James Price Point in particular), the stupid quay, the Libs still gave the Labs an absolute pasting...

Is it all federal reasons??? Perhaps the people see moving a hole (or re-designing projects) as a waste of money...

^^ top stuff

Out with the Greens (which WAS about greenie stuff years ago, but then became ANYTHING and everything far left that normal people can't relate to) and in come the the Shooters and Fishers Party who ARE all about what normal people want.
Not pandering to big business like Libs, not to Unions like Labor, and not loony left like the Greens - just normal people.

oval, and bugger me dead it feeds them straight into the Casino.

no money for health , roads , hospitals , teachers etc...
