I went to Perf once, it wasn't really a city. It was dull, everything closed at 6pm.I couldn't wait to get back on a plane to the East Coast. The GST is wasted on people with webbed feet who dress in home-made clothing.

Hahahaha, let's see some anger to get this forum 'Back on Track'

They don't even have a proper NRL team. Primitives.

I went to a RAMs game in Perth in 1997. I can't remember who they were playing. Does that count ?. And they don't have day light savings do they ?. I'm waiting for the explosion.

And you could argue that when we get the Bears, we still wouldn’t have a proper NRL team

Most places shut early because we're all sailing, surfing or hanging with friends at the pub. If you don't sail, surf or have any friends you'd have the exact experience you're describing.

It's very hot and dusty. Very isolated too, which probably explains all the inbreading that goes on. I guess your sister/cousin would look more attractive in that isolation. Rolf Harris comes from Perth, nearly everyone there must be related to him in some way.

I went to WA once, didn't have time to visit the city as it was windy and sunny every day and the waves were world class. We had so much fun on the water, that by 6pm I just wanted to go to bed and recharge to do it all over again the next day. Had great chats with the friendliest watersports folks on the beach.

Went back to the east coast, no wind for weeks, raining, crappy onshore bumps and I didn't even make it to the beach as the traffic was terrible and there was no park available. Hated it!

Had a mate finally do the trip from East to spend a month sailing and hang out last year, was first trip to experience our 'hot & dusty' WA summer. He cried when he left.

Perth is a great place to live.
It is no longer the the cultural back water it was in the 70s and 80s.
The only thing that would make it better was if the Darling Ranges where 500-1000m taller. I miss mountains
The main down side are the C.U.B's though there are pockets of civilized society.

Need proof because I am calling bull on that claim.

MSN has never left the Shire.

He surfed the web once looking for investment property in Port Gregory, but that is as close as he ever got to Perth.

What is C.U.B. ?. Is that a WA footy team ?

WA really does ride out the "if it's a 1000ft then its a mountain" definition. Everywhere else, it's called hills. Mind you, I would love to visit Bluff Knoll if I ever do visit WA again.

"Port Gregory features an exposed beach and reef break along Western Australia’s mid-west coast, offering fast, powerful right and left-hand waves. The surf spot works at all tides with a sandy bottom, optimal easterly swells, and southeast-to-east winds, though it is best suited for experienced surfers."

A C.U.B. is a Cashed Up Bogan general encounter driving a Ford Raptor or highly modified Series 79 Land Cruiser like its a weapon that's so clean you know its never been off road

Yea the Stirling Ranger are a bit far south to be part of Perth
