One mans drug is another mans medicine... in this case is just a damn weed you fools.
....
It wasn't just weed. The people involved were importing heroin as well as cultivating hydroponic dope. It was an active, professional criminal organisation. Not a bunch of hippies growing a bit of weed for personal consumption. Not even a group of entrepreneurs satisfying a commercial need.
The latest research says there are around 70 cannabinoids in marijuana. THC is the one that gets you stoned and the one that hydro is grown to maximise. When consumed in the developing brain it can inhibit the development the connectors that allow networks to develop.
Cannabidiol (CBD one of the cannabinoids bred out) is believed to protect against the negative effects of THC. In short, marijuana is no stronger than when we were young and stupid, but it is more likely to have adverse effects. Dope smokers of today need to go back to the wholemeal dope of 20-30 years ago.
One of the signs of addiction is an aggressive interest in all things drug. Pot heads love their bongs, love to grow plants, get a stiffy at the sight of a zip-lock bag, love to wake up in the morning in a house that smells like a combination of burnt hair and cat's piss. The same applies to piss pots.
In my younger days there were crew who were into being druggies and the whole outlaw, bikie thing, sticking it to the man, always in fear of being busted by the pigs or competitor druggies. It was pathetic really. Others used to grow the odd plant. Have a quiet smoke. It was never a problem. You only get busted if you are stupid or you act like a criminal.
Personally I can't understand the glorification of all things alcohol or whatever. People go nuts at the mention of free beer. Booze is cheap.
