Thanks PR.
Just playing tourist, too much trouble to cart gear around.
Didn't see any wind action, apart from a couple of parasails slope soaring.
Fullfilled a desire held since the endless summer fist came out(early 60s) to visit Raglan, don't think it was at it's best, just over head high and lumpy, but could see the potential.
Great place though, something for everybody.

Hello decrepit
I too would like to visit Raglan. My mate is from there and he keeps nagging me to go over there. I want too but there are no free trips there
Did you go anywhere else?
See any other spots?
Im getting a balsa board made in the next few months. 5'10" to 6". Fin box for centre and FCS sides for thruster/twinnie/single options. I have some outlines but yet to discuss details with the shaper. He still hasnt commited to it yet (hint hint)
Hope to get some waves with you this winter.
Talk later...

G'Day Greeny

The whole west coast of both Islands is a swell magnet! empty beach breaks everywhere, but Raglan was about the only point break I saw. There's a place on the North Island that looked very interesting from the other side of a river, called Hokianga Harbour, looked like it might be a great right hand point break, but you'd need a boat to get to it. I've just uploaded a photo www.seabreeze.com.au/gallery/gallery.asp?imageid=4099
