Last night I see crazy thing at Ballmoral in Syndey Harbour

A windsurfer rigged up and prepared to go out... all looked fine at this stage, fin in place, mast foot screwed in, vent plug tightened
Sail rigged, downhaul fine, outhaul good, boom in place

He is all set to go... then he goes to car, takes off boardies, puts on steamer wetsuit THEN PUTS BOARDIES BACK ON OVER THE TOP

WHAT WAS HE THINKING ?

Sometimes people laugh at furry Russian hat made from dead animal, yar it look strange but work well to keep head warm when minus 20 outside

I laugh more at this person with boardies on over wetsuit, water temp 24 degree and he wear steamer THEN he get mixed up and put boardies on over top !

I prepare to ask him what he does this for when my friend say 'Not ask... he must be kite boarder trying windsurfing'

Ahh now it makes sense, sort of ?

Why for people do this

Maybe you from Mother Russia too... Boris is fine Russian name like former President Yeltsin. He big vodka drinker and eating many pounds of salted fish... too much salted fish make him little crazy though... he needed more vodka.
Even though Yeltsin a little crazy he never wear shorts on outside of pants... sometime he wear no pants at all and dance like crazy bear but NEVER wear shorts on outside

I wanted to shoot this silly windsurfer with camera, then post picture on site, he very silly man and make people think all windsurfers do this, not just lone knob jockey.

Why for people wear boardshort over wetsuit ?

This would not be problem for me, there is no shame in this !
There is much shame in wearing board short over wetsuit

I used to race sailing dinghies when I was v. young and I know we would wear boardies over our wetsuit to stop from wearing the wetty out on the deck grip. This is more of an issue when you are sitting in a boat so I'm not sure it would carry over to windsurfing, but then again some habbits die hard.

Simple explanation for kiteboarder yes... simple explanation for windsurfer no !
Boardies went over wetsuit, harness then over boardies... not conected like yatch sailing harness... me think he very confussed.
I see him again I ask why for he does this
Maybe give him vodka and salted fish if this not work maybe we use Boris's suggestion (earlier reply to thread)
