Hamburglar, your job description fits numerous job positions! , is the pay commensurate for all those skills.
I have read a number of job ads that read, "work life balance" is that at all possible in the corporate world, had 1 job, arrive 7.30am- 6.00pm+, when leaving the manager would say "oh your leaving early" is that where the work life balance comes in to it, as after work what's left of your time you may be able to balance some sort of "life", mmm

I had a boss like that, who expected unpaid overtime to be the norm. Bugger that. The place I work at has a lot more money than I do so why should I be gifting them my labour for nothing? I'm paid to work certain hours and I work those hours.

If they want loyalty, get a dog.

Anyway my boss got the sack.

Same...except my boss is self employed & can't be sacked! The lure of "working with a great team", "cutting edge", "boutique design studio", "opportunity for professional development", "flexible hours", "work/family balance" etc...soon turned to "billable hours need to be increased", "no time in lieu or overtime will be paid, that's included in your salaries" etc...the sad thing was, all my work colleagues thought it was the norm, even to the point that on a few occasions when our server died, and the power was lost for a day, they were sent home, and the time taken from their holiday-pay.

I had a quiet chat to him (as an ex-employer) about employer's legal obligations and employees rights. Things are a bit more balanced now - for myself & my colleagues.

not a polie (in maintenance) just a disgruntled employee .
have been an excellent employee for over 14 years until recently when company changed hands and the new employers decided that they can do whatever they wanted whenever they wanted, too whoever they wanted and ignore a work place agreement that has worked well for both parties, for over 10 years, to the point that they were forced to make an appearance at the fair work commision, twice.
so they are still paying me but getting very little in return from 30 odd tradesmen all in the same boat .
