I'm bored at work and thought this could be an interesting thread (sorry if its been done before)
So the question is: Where do you work? (and what is it that you do obviosuly)
I'll start:
I'm an engineering student currently doing vacation employment at McConnell Dowell constructors.

I operate a hot air balloon ride company in Northam and I spend my early hours of the morning re filling the balloons

flatus :

A reflex that expels intestinal gas through the anus [syn: fart, farting, wind, breaking wind]

[L., fr. flare to blow.] 1. A breath; a puff of wind. --Clarke.

2. Wind or gas generated in the stomach or other cavities of the body. --Quincy.

Did spend 2 years developing a vaccine for sore arms but lost it on the No 12 bus and unfortunately it never got handed in. After this setback I then trained as a gynacologist but found I couldn't keep a relationship together. I couldn't deal with taking my work home with me.
Deciding medicine wasn't for me I became a millionaire archaeologist and during one of my "digs" discovered a mosquito embedded in a piece of amber .. I found that my medical training enabled me to extract the DNA of dinosaurs from its fossilised blood. Amazed, I bought an island and decided to turn it into a theme park where the public could come an see these amazing beasts in their natural environment.
During this time my diary was stolen by Stephen Speilburg. i am currently suing.
After a brief spell in the SAS and MI6 (which was nice) I became a male model, but the novelty of endless, meaningless incredibly adventurous sex marathons with a veritable string of stunning international starlets soon wore off and I quit in disgust after being voted "most virile man on Earth"
Now in the Australian paralympics team (I lost my left leg below the elbow in a kitchen accident) you may have seen me on the telly at Sydney coming 5th in the escalator accending final and winning the round-the-world swim.
Currently i am testing latex products for a well known contraceptive company.

You asked for it....

Or

Wherever I happen to be when I can't think of a convenient excuse to skive of and go sailing

If they weren't paying me buggered if I'd go.

I just got offered the job as Prima Ballerina for our Dance Company and am now considering my options, Some of the considerations include who will be lead male ballet dancer, because at the moment it's Greenroom and I don't think he'll be able to catch me

Glad to hear you had good use of it, and also that you got accepted as Prima Ballera.
You must be so excited about it. I am worried that you might not have much time to windsurf now?
as for tutu, I am sure someone will be willing to make a special one for you,
You could contact the WA Curtains factory, they make the big curtains in theatres, so I am sure they 'll have pink off cuts for you.
good luck!

Poor Relative: Pretty impressive CV I reckon!!!
should think of retiring soon !

engineers are just glorified train drivers
ive been on contract with multiplex for the last 6 months on 2 different sites and those engineers just walk around in shirt and tie while im reading their "mumbo jumbo dont know what im doing drawings" and on more coin than they are hosko and simonm im a spark and been on construction for a while... i was on train 4 on the burrup and those woodside boys are a bunch of hmmm... ive done a bit with broad too and wont go back with them thats for sure. im glad i dropped that light fitting on the big bosses rare jarrah coffee table and scratched the @#$% out of it currently were on a picket line on one of broads site coz an electrical mob are paying his sparkies on a workplace agreement and wont go EBA... anyway work sucks so play hard

well i'm happy with where i'm at, its gonna be good money. i'm not gonna go on about stories about sparky's coz i dont wanna get into a sledging match. so good for you that your earning more money than the graduate engineers or whoever your comparing yourselves to.... but i'll just leave saying there is a hell of alot more scope as an engineer to earn 200+k a year by getting into management than a sparky. Don't take that as a sledge, just some informed criticism about the whole money side of things.
cheers

ps. also its annoying to hear the amount of ppl who pay out on engineers when on the whole they are a very well trained/educated bunch.
and "glorified train driver"? bah don't get me started

i too worked as an engineer, a flight engineer on john travolta's jumbo jet. I did this prior to developing a serum for sore arms.
Whilst the hours were good and the conditions excellent i had to leave after a brief but torrid liason with a hostess who had a hairy back who later released a barrage of lies regarding my exploits with small furry animals to womans day.

I'm with you Hosk,

I'm sick of people having a go at my profession as well.

You should hear the things they say about male ballet dancers. Just because I dance and where effemenite clothing does not mean I am you know what, people keep questioning my sexuality and asking whether I'm gay, "Well, I can CATEGORICALLY CONFIRM here that I am not GAY, but yes the man I sleep with is". This has nothing to do with my profession, I am a classical dancer, nor do comments such as "Your just a girl" prove very helpful, yes of course I have to sit down when I wee, but that's because of an injury to my ankle, and absolutely nothing to do with my gender.

Hardie, i am sure your difficulties with your sexuality will resove in time.
I too have suffered persecution and spent a period in jail in Vladivostok for promoting the use of anti-bacterial wipes. However the persecution i suffered certianly did not bring my sexuality into question, mind you my liasions with small furry animals in Pevek has been the subject of much discussion throughout the world media.
