Where is a good place to windsurf at the beach when the NorthWesters are blowing? I been going in the river but getting sick off the one second 20 knotts one second 10 knotts, so wanna give the ocean a bash, plus my mate kitesurfs and he refuses to go in the river.

Hayden is Stefan here

in a NW at the beach it is pretty nasty at times because of the swell wind etc and you can get pretty hammered if you aren't careful. Crazy waves is always good but there is still a pretty big shore break at times. If you go to crazies park at south beach and sail down so that you car waont get broken into

If you are not after pure waves and are not too far away, Shoalwater/Mercy Point is good - it is also on-shore if you are not too confident and is not too rough. It is sailable in all winds up to 40knots+ (provided you have your 3.5m sail ) and is sheltered by islands.

Do you know where Penguin Island is in Shoalwater (Rockingham)? Mercy Point is the point joining the mainland to Pengo via the sandbar, it has a cafe/thingo built on it.
