Neat!
No wonder it's so blistering hot today. The wind is blowing straight off the centre of australia and then sliding down the west coast. Even Albany will be hot.

Click on "Earth" in the bottom left corner. All the interactive stuff happens there - 3 hourly or 1 day forecasts up to 4 days out are under "Control". Great site.

Thanks for that little tip. Opens a whole new vista. With that open, right click any point on the map and it will give you lat/long, direction and speed.

This is a great resource.

I like looking at the water currents, its crazy around the equator but pretty still except for a few major currents. is that because earth spins fastest at the equator???

The water is also very warm up near the equator, could be part of the reason.

I think it's because the water currents are driven by water moving to or from areas of different temperatures. At the equator the temperature is as hot as it gets so there is no driving force to send the water anywhere else, so low currents.
The same apples to the wind.
