ok i have had a bad run in the last few days, i have done somthing to my arm while windsurfing, and now i cant sail on it or even lift anything with it, i have been stung last week by a bee on my right foots little tow, and just as the irritating itch has gone, i stood on another bloody bee today and this time on my right foots big toe, and it has swollen up and looks like a water melon, but just red not green.

i want to hear some home remedies to make it stop hurting, (as in stop me from feeling the pulse);. i have herd of toothpaste, but apparently calamine lotion is meant to be better, but all that has done is make it feel worse. and ontop of that i have work tomorrow night, and i have to wear closed in work shoes, wich are steal cap and narrow, so im wanting somthing that will offer a few hours relief.

so any one got some home remedies that help in the healing process

Here you are sooky la la thinking about your bloody sore tootsies.
Have you even spared a thought for the poor bee/bees which is no longer with us? The terror he had to endure right before it saw your big, dopey, smelly foot squash his ass through its brains? The honey that you will no longer enjoy from its hard labour? Its grieving family and not to mention the queen bee and the pain she has to go through? Huh Huh?
Gee Jords you are all about me me me. Can you just stop thinking about yourself and your sore toe? Have a heart brother. Your a murderer thats what you are. I hope your toe turns green and falls off!
Btw if you want a home remedy you could always stick it where the sun dont shine

Ice as soon as you have been stung is what you are meant to do.... however i'd be worried about the swelling..... have you been stung much before? Just because its usually the second sting that is the indicator of an allergy. So be careful

If the bee stinger is still stuck in your skin (stinky foot) when you first get stung, try to slip it out with a butter knife or bank card or something like that. Pulling it out with your fingers can squeeze more toxin/venom in to your stinky foot, increasing the severity of the sting.

I usually get stung at the beach, and I find just leaving my foot in the ocean for a while helps. No swelling, pain is less, and the water feels good. But i guess its too late for that.sorry. Oh, you could get a red tube of stuff called paw paw cream, man i know its girly, but that stuff is amazing. Go get some.

The idea is to remove the sting quickly, just scratch it out with your fingernail, do not squeeze with fingertips. But I suggest that if you go searching for a butter knife you might as well not bother, even delaying while you get your wallet and bankcard out is going to allow all the poison to pump into the stinky foot. I was chainsawing some branches from a tree the otherday that had a wild hive in it. One of the buggers got under my face visor and stung me on the lip, and because I felt it prudent to avoid scratching around my face with a running chainsaw in my hand I left the sting there. Had lips the envy of Angelina Jolie for a few hours after. You can take antihistamines but really why would you bother as I suspect that if you start taking drugs for minor ailments you start to stuff up the bodies natural response and increase the probability of an adverse reaction in the future.

I Like to get out my big bowie knife and cut out the sting, then suck out the poison and spit it out onto the bee. Cut off my arm once after a nasty mosquito bite, then I grew back another one. I'll save my story of what I did when a vicious ant squirted acid into my eye!

Just remembered the time up at the Sp*t when I saw Greenroon step on a stonefish. He gently released him back into the ocean, sucked out the poison and kept sailing.

If i were u id go get an allergy test cos my old man had been stung many times before and they were progresivly worse and worse and one day he was stung on the foot had an allergic reaction went into shock and barely made it to the phone to call the ambo's and nearly died. The doctors said that alot of people get stung a few times before they realize the are allergic

Hey is it possible to get tested to see if you have an allergy to bee stings? I've only had 2 stings, the last time was about 12 years ago, and my arm did swell a bit, so have always wondered if I've developed a serious allergy problem.

I'm not a doctor or anything, but to find out if alergic, go to back yard, jump in a tree with lots of flours, wait 10-15minutes, if breathing your fine.

o.k.

now no one builds up an immunity to bee stings.

in fact each new sting develops a more severe reaction to the last one.
it's as if its topping up your blood supply with stuff that should only be stored in bees arses.

varies with different humans.

i remember watching a doco on bee keepers and how some developed a definite resistance to the sting and others got progressively worse with each new sting

My family kept bees when I was a kid. Sometimes you might get dozens of stings if the bees are angry. You tend to build up an immunity which can suddenly disappear and turn into an allergic (anaphalactic) reaction. It is also possible to have a non anaphalactic allergy to stings.
Was stung between the eyes one Sat morning. Went out sailing (International Cadet),during the race both eyes swelled so that my eyes were completely closed. Had to sail back prising my swollen eye open to see. Then the humiliation of going to school looking like an oriental... but that was nothing like when my younger brother was stung on the dick. Wouldve put viagra out of buisiness.
