Interesting nebs, that looks a lot cheaper than the traditional tower and turbine.
How do you think it compares efficiency wise?

Guess if the weather is unsuitable they just land all the kites.

I don't think that efficiency is the main problem here, I think it would be maintenance -- it's all very well to have a couple of kites flying in clear blue skies on a lovely 15 knot day, it's something else when there's a 50 knot storm lashing the coast. Sure, a human could land and pack up the kites, but that pretty much means one person per installation... compare this to normal turbines that are essentially maintenance free (apart from maybe a 6 monthly checkup).

Nice idea, but I don't see it getting *cough* off the ground...

Yes good point, computer may be able to fly them, but landing and launching is a different order of problem. Good job for a robot.

it seems that everyting is being incorperated with technology these days!!!!some things eed it some things are a waste of time....unsure on this one though, i think that i will sit on the fence.
