I had to get a new telstra mobile last year, (pain in the bum) and since then have been receiving a steady stream of texts from people wanting to swap shifts with a young lass called Laura at a restaurant called Metro Scooters.

I have tried returning texts but it doesnt stop them.

I have no idea where the restaurant is, or who Laura is, but jeez shes popular!

wotcha reckon- is this a legit wrong number- or a dodgy scam of some sort?

the last call came at 2am (W.A. time) this morning from another girl called Jessie (0421 676 463) wanting to swap shifts for sunday morning!

Not a scam.

1. Ring these guys

2. ask if they are metro store or if there's another in town (if so ring metro store)

3. Tell them to tell laura to fix mobile number on staff bulletin board / roster board

4. practice google skills, that took me 20 seconds to find

I worked with a guy that had a similar problem... Seems a local GP (Doctor) had business stationary (mis)printed with my mates number on it. He got heaps of calls from people wanting to book appointments etc. Once he worked out what happened he contacted the GP and explained. The GP said, "no worries, once I have used this batch of stationary I will make sure the next lot has the correct number". He did not think it was a good idea to stop using the stuff with the wrong number.

My mate kept getting calls, so for evey caller her made an appointment for them, all at 1pm Thursday. Then at 1pm Thursday he went to the GP's office, pushed his way through the standing room only crowd and asked the very frustrated receptionist to see the doctor. She replied, "no, we are very busy", he expalined that he was the reason they were so busy and she let him see the doctor. He asked the doctor to reconsider his decision to keep using the stationary. It worked

TXT "YES happy to swap, Laura" .... no one turns up to do the shift, boss gets upset, repremand to shift swapper/s, wont do that again.
It may take a little time but it should stop.... eventually (hopefully)

No, no. You reply 'Happy to swap.'

Then, about 5 minutes before the shift you reply again, 'Sorry. Wrong number. Hey YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE!'
