Im ready to blow up & jump on the b phone! Ive had 5 attempts to sort out a bill problem with the @## over several months..everytime they say yep all sorted youll be charged x amount on your next bill & of course then they overcharge..trying to ring the #$$ today & I get an automated response that doesnt even get me where I need. After 15 mins finally get someone & they say can you hold while I fix this..? yes..then the B phone cuts off and I cant finish off the thing .You cant ring & get the same person so Im trying to get onto them again & after a 5min argument yelling at the b automated thingy I finally get in to be told there is at least a b 10min wait.." we have a lot of phone enquiries at the moment.." ( I wonder B why..????????)[}:)][}:)][}:)]

Sorry .. had to vent , even had a laugh..Im still on B hold..luckily its hands free.I tried to get onto the telecom ombudsman to have a whinge & they had a 20min wait! I can see why! The worst thing is the trouble all started when i exceeded my internet one month ( very uncharacteristically) & was pursuaded to change plans to get a better deal & lock in for B 2years!!argh!! So I cant even piss the B..ds off & go to someone else! Customer service ..yeah..
Well its supposed to be sorted..my bloodpressure has dropped a hell of a lot..still lets wait till the next bill before we celebrate

Ya poor thing.
Been there done that. I left.

The bad news is, the others are not really any better.
A few months back while setting up a mobile broadband account with a different company, the operator I was speaking to couldn't understand me and I couldn't understand him.
About 10 minutes into an impossible conversation in which no progress was made I suddenly realised how ridiculous the whole thing was and I started to laugh uncontrollably. I couldn't help it. It was either that or to start crying with frustration.
Anyway, he then thought I must be a prank caller and hung up.

You need to view it as a character building exercise.

I've had the opposite experience with westnet, if there's a long wait, an automated response, tells you what the wait is, and asks if you'd like to be rung back when you come to the top of the queue. I was a bit dubious the first time, (after similar experiences to boardcrazy with other providers). But very close to the stated time the phone rang, and it was westnet. They listened to my problem and sorted it out very quickly, I recommend them highly.

not exactly following the original thread , but i'm curious to know if anyone has taken up the offers or even spoken to/let through your front door the people claiming to represent major phone and pay tv networks to let them pitch their product, lately it seems that unknown callers from unknown international destinations are coinciding with unknown people walking our street and offering us better deals, i am very polite in telling them to go away, they also have trouble reading......... our sign at the top of the stairs
no hawkers
no canvassers
no religion
maybe we should add no telcos and no tv
i know they are trying to make a living like the rest of us, but i can't imagine they would generate a lot of business.

Furthermore, some of us are stuck with Telstra as we work and/or live in remote locations where there is no other coverage. Without the option to vote with our feet we can only hope they get their act together at some point.

Their website also sucks. [}:)]

when you ring up, press the buttons to "set up a new account" then you will get through quicker then if you press for a complaint or disconnection.. sometimes works
