Immigration department is not much fun to deal with but take some time to read through the website before forking out $2000 for an agent imo. Mine really pissed me off.

Unless you have complications or unusual circumstances they are not worth it. No idea about 457-pr but all the other visas I've seen you just follow their document checklist and eventually you'll get there. Flying to indo and jumping on a boat is quite possibly easier and quicker.

And dont get these two questions wrong:

-Are you/ were you a terrorist?
-Are you/did you make weapons of mass destruction?

Pissed myself laughing but those questions are actually on one of the forms I had to fill in.

good luck - we did it own our own, took 2 years for them to figure out how to dip the stamp in the ink and apply it to a piece of paper. Could be because we decided to do it with out sponsorship (ended up sponsored by NSW) if your being sponsored by a company that is already doing your 457 it's quicker
