just picked up a 1990 toyota 4 runner 3l v6 petrol.
engine is screwed.
where would i find a cheap motor recond or new?
any idea of price

the 3 litre V6 in those is a real dog-many problems with heads etc. Very fuel hungry but a good strong gearbox.
If its in good nick better to get a kit from Marks 4WD adaptors and fit a holden V6. While the kit costs money the holden motor is only a few hundred bucks for a good one and they are strong and reliable. Probably going to cost a grand or more for the Toyota motor at least.

a grand! maybe from a blokes back yard with no guarantees, I think you might discover that the motor will cast more than you paid for the car.
My $WD truck died recently and the cost of a wrecked motor was FROM $4400.
anybody want to buy a kia truck,, fully overhauled gaerboxes,diffs and suspension, licenced, NO motor
