I really feel for this guy's family and friends
To FB,
Your words appear presumptive. I am a nurse, have worked in a pysch ward, and a have a family full of Firies.
You feel for this guy's family and friends, who you don't know, hinting at empathy, yet you show no feelings for others contributing to an on-line forum that you and I share. That's arrogance.
(FWIW, I am not calling you arrogant, just your opinion at the moment you created your message here on-line).
How about toning down your disruptive words, and acknowledge that we are told to pursue outside recreational activities, chat with colleagues, find pride in our work as coping strategies about these things that drag us down.
Yes - I agree that these very things may, can and do, have another side.
To paraphrase the closing words of the

The... piece touches on numerous facets of (our) work, not just depression, but (our potential or realised) candour demonstrates that the process of making (our life goals and) work keeps unfolding.www.smh.com.au/entertainment/music/even-rock-stars-get-the-blues-springsteen-talks-depression-and-selfloathing-20120726-22ty7.html#ixzz21m0PDlu0
