Go to the AVG website and download their free antivirus software and run that then download the trial version of their anti adware/spyware software ,reboot your computer in safe mode and run that.
Or as a last resort back up the files you want to keep and reformat your hard drive.
Good luck.

Adaware will clean off a lot of **. It's a free download (google it). Also lots of free online virus scanners, again google it. Also remove any unwanted applications/programs especially krappy shareware stuff and p2p stuff e.g kazaa, limewire etc.Delete temp internet files and cookies (Internet options under control panel), and make sure you've downloaded all latest microsoft patches - go to programs and windows update.

Back up files of importance.
Wipe everything clean
reformat your hard drive
reinstall everything

after that download a decent free virus protection application
download a decent free firewall
Set to go again.

What ever you do stay away from windows as much as you can.
If you have to use a windows operating system. use firefox as a browser with the "noscript" addon. and thunderbird as email client.

I dual boot windows and linux, and use linux to go online with.

In addition to AVG and Ad-aware as freebies, get Spybot Search and Destroy. It is so good, it is mandatory if you really want a good cleanup.

If still problems (IE lots of porno use) , try a registry fixer like Registry Mechanic but that is a last resort really. Try going to nightcubs at 4:00am with $50 for drinks, it works better than having to 'clean' your computer so thoroughly

History kill is good. Expensive program though, unless you know someone in the IT department at work.

Privacy Guardian does the same job for free. File shredder that coems with it is handy too, so nothing you delete can EVER come back
