Seems the doomsayers are all wrong and we have been reading the Mayan calendar incorrectly.

2012 is just end/start of a new Mayan cycle.

Sounds like a sweet rig

but you still shouldnt go talking about selling! it sets a bad example!

I regret offloading my 762 and .223 omarks years ago- and would love to get the old air rifles back I sold in the late 80's.

same with my dad- he regrets selling grandads accumulation when grandad died, but realistically- dad had nowhere to store the 70(ish) firearms- and licensing was getting difficult about then

my current favourites are the M44 mosin-nagant (as originally issued in 1944) mine was made in 1946- and was a virgin until I got it,

closely followed by the longbranch no.4, set up as a carbine- lightened stock, carbine sights, recycled schultz and larsen 7.62mm target barrel- rechambered to suit .303 cartridge with 7.62mm projies.
Has same balance, trigger pull, and sights as a military spec .303 carbine, but ammo is easier to make with 7.62mm/ .308 projies available anywhere-anytime, unlike threeoh's where supply is patchy at best.
Only drawback is the trigger- still hung from the guard so its affected by heat/ humidity- after around 12 shots it changes from 2 stage to single
will fix that one day!

Made the mistake too, but only my hand guns...... Wanker Johnny made me do it as I could not be bothered to go the range 6 times a year! But I was silly should have moved them to my collector license (did not realise I could at the time) I kept all the rifles!

same here with the "buybacks"
I cant complain about the payouts from the rifle and shotgun buyback- I was given way more than I ever spent on the ruger10-22 + barrels and magazines, and the ex US marine Corps Ithica 37 shotgun and spare barrel.
I just loathed being told I had to hand them in- when in reality- as they were never banned here- I could have legally kept both.

For the handgun "buyback" I went to the trouble of getting quotes from the police for everything I was handing in- but then the cheque was short by an awfull lot!
It turned out that the police had bought in an "expert" from the eastern states, and he had made mistakes identifying several items. As far as the police were concerned, it was tough luck- go take it up with the expert (even though he was an employee who was thier responsibility)
