i think it might be time to leave gilli... either i go now or i am sure to be destined to become the legend of the wild haired crazy eyed aussie with no visa, who roams the island, living under coconut trees, hassling euro turo's for money, doing the jobs even the indo's won't do, snorting powdered mushrooms and going on wild incoherent ravings about goverment sanctioned genetically engineered mind contolling coconut plantations, or deperately trying to awaken the people to the fact that the squid's are really aliens of massive intellect sent to earth eons ago to help shape the destiny of mankind subliminly and should not be eaten fried with salt and pepper...

i think it might be a sign that i should leave gilli when it feels normal to be ordering mushrooms on my breakfast pancake, and when a banana milkshake does not sound anywhere near as appealling as a mushroom one. or when it begins to seem like a good idea to have a mushroom salad before going for a surf because its really small and closing out fast on the ultra sharp, shallow coral reef, but after the salad it does not matter because size becomes nothing more than a perspective and it's now huge and its ok cause i can paddle real fast now cause i have four arms and it does not matter if you wipe out because.....a, i can float/fly away when i wipe out... or, i can communicate with the reef as we are on the same level of conscienceness(?) and the reef won't hurt me, it will actually move out of my way or catch me and hug me and give me a wonderful deep tissue massage that only the squares back on the beach in their air con bungalows will mis-interperet as horrible nasty flesh wounds in need of urgent medical attention.... ah the squares, will they ever get it...?

but some things on gilli are funny enough with out the aid of the blue-ish white mana from the heavens...

like the japanese tour groups who, like everyone else here, want to go snorkelling the reef in the glass bottom boat (don't be fooled, this is indonesia, it actually is a drinking glass glued on the bottom of the boat, they think its a great joke) only most can't swim, but that does not stop them, aboard the boat they climb, life jackets AND those blow up arm floaties little kids wear, and do the whole three hour tour with their masks strapped to their faces breathing through their snorkells, not once getting out of the boat for the whole trip... but whats funnier, is all of them bar none have to be helped from the boat at the end of the trip as most are asphixiating and all of their masks have fogged up and none of them can see, from like twenty mins into the trip..!

then there are the brave japs who do go snorkelling, in their life jackets and arm floaties, in knee deep water..!!! the whole time they are struggling to get horizontal and put their face below the surface, but that does not stop them coming in arms wailing, gesticulating wildly about the sea life they think they saw...

oh well, its round lunch time, am about due for a mushie pizza then its onto my rocket powered pushbike for one last trip around to visit the venusians watching over us all sentiently, visiting earth just before the rain stops, to sprinkle mushroom seeds on the cow poos....

love to all and to all.... eat mushrooms.....xxx
