still trying to get my head around the weather patterns that promote or destroy our beloved seabreeze here in the West.

This week has nice big winds forecast from Wed - Sat but the synoptic charts show a big dirty trough hanging around the coast.

Is this gonna spoil our fun?

seen some where that the bureau use an index of barometric pressure difference at gero and ? cape leeuwin
need good east or se sse to boost the thermals
trough looks like its sitting inland over next few days and se prevailing = good breeze
mind u seabreeze predictions as good as any bom ones imho

Thanks bolgo. I read on laurie's info page that inland trough = good sb. Just wasn't sure how inland it has to be.

found it
strength of easterly = pressure at c.naturaliste - gero
if difference small 2-3hpa seabreeze on coast 10am
if large 6-7 breeze not til 2pm

and generally an early seabreeze tends to be lighter than a late one, right?
