Elmo my learnered friend the basic idea behind DLS all over the world is to allow people to enjoy an extra hour of daylight in the evening when the weather is fine ie summer. Not winter.

Your not the kind of guy to notice any curtain fading are you?????

My situation is similar to greenroom, with young kids at home, Im keen to get home at a reasonable hour to participate. So daylight saving hasnt been advantageous at all.
However Im keen to complete the 3 year trial, and consider it again, I belive this year it will start in October, so we get more time to get used to it.

and apparently finishing at the end of Jan?

That would be ok(ish) for the sake of the morning crew, I guess.

Im not saying that I have the ball and chain around the ankle. My wife lets me do what ever I want when ever I want and my fellow windsurfing/surfing buddies know how good my wife is. Bloody hell I went windsurfing when my wife's pop was on his death bed! I went surfing the day my daughter was born! From memory there has been one day this season when my wife has rang me at work asking if I would come home because she was violently ill and even then I drove past the beach just to see what I was missing out on. I cant believe people make prior arrangements and not consider the potential of a seabreeze! My whole weeks planning is around an arvo windsurfing. My wife also makes appointments outside of this time. I even lied to my therapist because I want to go windsurfing! Do I have a problem or what?

I geuss flexibility is one of the problems, people have set beliefs about the way the world should be, and that they are unwilling to change these beliefs, however a belief is just that, not a universal truth, it is a social and psychological construction, and therefore it can be deconstructed............

back to melbourne you go then pal

West Aussies will say NO to any question...

Would you like Sunday trading
Would you like week night trading
Would you like $100
Would you like a free trip to Bali
Would you like not to be kicked in the pants

If the question was phrased as would you like the time to remain as it is I wonder what the answer would be

Rubbish , west Aussies know what they want and don't want!thankfully not so easily fooled by all the east coast hype, if you want to be Melbourne or Sydney go and be them and take Kennett with you.
