Being from South America and having brought the Zika as a kid, I can say quite safely....

ps. Media hoo-ha really. It's been around since the 60's and 70s at least and it's not just from South America. Mostly likely mosquitos in Cairns have it.

What actually happens to people who contract this zika virus?
Other than infected people having babies with small heads/brains what are the effents of this virus on people?

Perhaps caused by GMO mosquitoes released at the epicenter of the Zeka outbreak, coincidence?

you turn red (really) and are just exhausted with a couple of muscular aches.

Lasts a few days and gone, just avoid being "bitten" by a mosquito to prevent spreading the disease.
