I bought the 899 to try for lighter wind but didn't like it for kite foil, found it unneccessarily high aspect given we have constant power on tap. High take off & stall speeds and a bit finiky to ride. The extra glide would be great for some sports but I didn't need the hassle. I sold it to stick with the 930 instead. That was my experience, others love them of course.
When I had one for a demo (I got talked into it) I had a brain fart and mounted it the same position on the board as my 660/390. Couldn't water start
ended up hanging five with my front foot, and only then got up and going.
Half a dozen tacks only; too focused for me. I prefer the x60 wings.
