At 63 I am also into kitefoil exclusively now. Kiteboarding with a TT or surfboard requires wind speed that is too rare at my local spots, foiling is less stressful on the body and the carving, surfing and flow is so much more intense and when you are flying. Just love it!

Hmmm just purchased the first kitefoiling set at 72 yo...wonder if l manage it to learn,...kiting for 22 years now only wave directional boards and an Airush 54 V5 slalom board...
My set of kites 14m catalyst v2 ( will be sold if l succeed together with the slalomboard) 12/9/7/5 ozone reo v6....just purchased new 12m 10m Ozone alpha v2 at -50%
These still can be used on my airush cypher fishboard, 12m reo will be sold if Alpha is good in lightwind.
So a new adventure to start with, very uncertain yet in if l can manage it to learn🫪🤖

Great idea; of course you can do it! I don’t know much about those particular kites, but once you get a bit proficient you’ll likely be down-sizing (unless you get into racing). You need very little power once up on foil.
I believe that the ability to turn quickly with little line tension and drift a bit in light airs are the main attributes for the kite.
Your choice of foil is probably far more important than the kite or the board.
Enjoy the adventure!

Thx...the foil is an older set, but l purchased it new, its an Ozone apex v1 set with 125cm X 44cm board, twintip construction with little volume, good scoop
Foil :
" This foil is Ozone's first production foil. It comes with a 90cm mast, 1200 Low Aspect front wing, and 315 rear wing. Everything is made out of carbon and fastened together with titanium."

I l got my hands on a slingshot hoverglide 61cm alu mast + fuselage, with an apollo 60cm frontwing...for learning.

On my 4 th trial now but, with onshore wind, so a lot of dragging out to be able to start and not getting to quickly back in undeep water, choppy wave making the strapless waterstart a bit difficult in the beginning😉

My kites are 3 strut wave oriented kites.
I have a monostrut 12m Ozone Alpha v2 ...used it yeasterday, in very little wind, but had to change the setting on leading edge so the leading edge is tilted approx 5cm upwards, this resulted in better feedback in the bar...and better turning, the downside seemed to be a bit backstall , but l think l can get that out with pulling some depower...
Will try other setting or tweaking,
