WAKSA
www.waksa.org.au is pleased to announce its events calendar
http://waksa.org.au.86.aspwebhosting.com.au/events_list.aspx for the 2007/2008 season.

It's packed full of some of the favourite events that we've run in the past few years, as well as some new events that you wanted to see us organise.

We've taken a different approach this year with the majority of events having a backup date. This means that if the weather is not looking great we have the ability to postpone the event and attempt to run it on the backup date.

Please note: If the event does go ahead, but we are unable to complete it successfully, it will be at the discretion of WAKSA whether the backup date is also used due to the cost and manpower required to stage the event twice. Needless to say we will attempt to pick the date offering the best forecast/conditions.

To cater for a wider geographical spread of membership, we're heading to Safety Bay for an awesome freestyle event; put together by a dedicated freestyle organisation team (who know what freestylers want), this event is going to rock!

Wave events this year will be announced at short notice when the conditions are looking good. Keep an eye on the Seabreeze Forums and our website for last minute details.

We are hoping to get some speed kiting events off the ground this season. Lots of work has already been completed on the formats and logistics involved, so if you are interested in taking part/helping to get these up and running, please let us know.

This year we are taking a different approach to the State Titles. Due to the amount of effort and resources involved in organising the event, only to find that due to weather conditions we can't get a result, we have decided to have a points system that will run throughout the season.

Every event will have some points up for grabs. The State Champions will be those kiters that have shown the greatest range of skills and consistancy during the entire season. More information will be released soon.

KITESTOCK 2008
www.kitestock.com now enters it's third successive year, the biggest social kiting event in Australia. We're back in Dongara/Denison for the weekend of 15th to 17th February 2008. If you missed out last year make sure you get in early this time around and come and have the best weekend of kiting.

A big thank you goes to our Events Cordinator Jess van den Berg and the events committee for putting together another cracking season of events for the WA kiting community.

Membership renewals for 2007/2008 will open in a couple of weeks.

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Safe kiting
