I am sure it will be good, but they cant really call it a doco if they are only filming at one event!

I only seen twin tip and competition

There is so much more kiting for
Waves
Scim Board
Race
Speed
Snow
old school
new school
Lifestyle

What doco would be complete without all aspect of the sport

what is it with kite boarders obsession with letting everyone know what we do and making the sport look legit to other board sports. Mind you more good kite vids would be good to watch.

yeah lets shout out to any body that will listen how good this sport is, then complain when the beaches are crowed with kooks.

Only Idiots and people with a financial interest would advocate this.

I am all for awesome kiting vids, but the angle of this is all wrong. It should be made for kiters to watch, celebrating all things kiting, not with the goal of telling the world how good kiting is, trying to legitimise the sport to the rest of the board sports world. Why the inferiority complex anyway, I don't get it. Too much ego with some people I guess.

Yo guys the SSS is the most legit thing going on. This event is on an island in the middle of nowhere and one of the events the top riders will even go to. There is no money to be made and its a full week of riding everyday without any heats or judges in a booth that barely know how to do the tricks. Most of these guys are broke and barely have enough money to travel, Give them some respect for trying to get some bigger sponsors. If a winner of a surf comp can get $300,000 for one event why can't kiters get some loot. They are also trying to show the sport to pro surfers and pro wakeboarders so they can realize how much the sport can resemble theirs. Most kiters have no background in any other watersports which makes their style pretty weak. There are pro surfers that are in this event that are also pro kitesurfers as well as pro Cable/Wake riders that are also pro kiters. This event is a held in a Mecca for kiting flatwater and waves and has the worlds biggest slider park for kiting so it can def be a Doco.

Yo bennie - your big ace kite in the sky is shouting out to everyone about the sport and sparking their interest, so if you don't want people to start the sport then put your kite down and stop riding.

Windsurfing never cracked the big time in the way surfing has, and to be honest I don't think kiting will either. It's clear that kiting has overtaken windsurfing in popularity, ( hence my conversion.. Follow my mates) but the simplicity and sacessibility of surfing is hard to beat. Most Ozzie kids have a surf board or boogie board. Kiting and wind surfing is hugely mega more complicated.

Good on them for having a crack, but accept things for what they are as well.

I saw the thread title and wanted to respond but you nailed it anyway Bennie, well said. I'm with you. So many things get ruined because some entrepreneurial genius greedy bastard notices, rubs hands together and thinks "ohhh money to be made"
It's not like we don't all have big fkn adverts 20m above our heads anyway
I'm guessing none of us want beaches 20x busier than they are now...

Scenario: - 40 surfers in a break; do 40 kiteboarders take up the same space or a sh1t load more? I wonder how many folks have thought that one through..
But hey, the almighty dollar

I threw in my 25 good luck to them.

All you guys complaining about over crowded beaches i can totally see where your coming from, and I hear a lot about it here online. You sure like to whinge about it a bit. Sound like my missus

But I've been riding going 5 years now, met some good people, and enjoy going for a ride.

And I'd love to see our sport grow and get some recignition. Nothing wrong with that. It's called natural progression.

Gidget appeals to the masses. She would make kitesurfing popular as!
