I'm having heaps of trouble with the leading edge bladder valve disappearing into the leading edge when inflating the kite.I just managed to inflate the kite today with the valve looking as though it was trying to be pulled back into the leading edge. It did this when I was out and now I have one very wet kite with a bladder that’s got water in it. I was thinking of pulling the bladder out and coating it in baby powder and hope it sit better when replaced. Also is it worth flushing the bladder out with fresh water .Any hints/advice on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.
Thanks Kevin

G'Day Kevin
This use to happen with my kites

Quick fix on the beach is to deflate kite open the zipper on the leading reach in and try and shake the bladder off the leading edge casing. If you can, pour talc in the zipper opening. Sometimes the talc or baby powder gets gummy and part of the bladder gets stuck to the LE casing. Reinflate holding onto the valve and shake the kite if the valve starts to suck in.

If You have water in the bladder drain it completely of water. By removing it from the kite and working the water out of the valves. You can flush out the LE casing if you want with fresh water but dry it completely before putting the bladder back in.

If you haven't removed a bladder before or if it's One pump/Octopus do as Paul recommends and ask the shop for help .

Take it back to the shop, they will be able to sort it out.
There have been a fair number of reports of this problem on various forums, it seems that there is a batch of bladders that had the valves welded in slightly the wrong location.
Even if it is a twist happening, it should be covered under warranty, and the dealer can quickly sort it either way.
Take it to your North dealer.

my bladders always a bit dodgy, but a quick trip to the backyard tomato patch always solves the problem.

I took the kite back to the shop and they replaced it. No problems with the new kite. I can certainly recommend the rebel and have been very impressed with the amount of depower it has. I have a 12m rebel and have been out in 25 knot winds with plenty of depower left. The rebel is so easy to fly and control in gusty conditions compared to my 2005 C kites. I think any of the new kites would be very impressive but I decided on the rebel because I wanted a proven fifth line kite with no bridles.

I have been on my 2008 REBELS since our Fiji Safari in August and love them. Nothing but good times with my 9 and 14m Combo and can't wait to hit more and more waves every day using these babies.

Oh by the way if bladder discomfort does start and persist then see your doctor or North Dealer, both sure to help.

All the best
