Can anyone give me their opinion with the 09 Naish Helix? Specifically in the 9m and 12m. Theres something about the crazy design that has me hooked on trying them.

Im looking for something to replace my gear, so if anyone can recommend an 09, possibly 08 kite that is worth considering that would be great.

Im 100kgs and have been flying North Rebels, looking for something without 5 lines. Some ppl love it, its given me a headache a couple of times. More into flat water riding than waves, boosting and just starting unhooking, not really into looping.

Don't even think about the 08 Helix. only 09.
I remember there was a very good deal for them at the end of the season, each kite use to come with a free board!
If you get 2 you will only need 1 bar and if you don't get the boards you might be able to get you self a nice bargain.

haha, yeah Idiot i saw that deal and it got me thinking.

Are they trying to offload boards that didn't sell too well, or are they trying to offload a dodgey kite by sweetening the deal with a board.

Have you flown the 09 Helix at all?

The 09 Helix is a much better kite than the 08. Build quality is better and the design and responsiveness of the kites is 100% on last seasons Helix. If you can get a deal, go for it. I just PM you..

The 08 helix was a heavy kite and it caused so much trouble for the 09 ones.
Nothing is better than a demo, if I liked it or not is not important, you got to feel comfy with it.
PS. Naish will release a delta kite soon (2 or 3 months from now). If I were you I would have get only 1 helix 09 for now and my second one a bit later.
But hey, I'm an idiot, what do I know?

The 09 Helix is a nice kite compared to the 08 which was a seven strut pig with wings.

You will not be dissapointed but then again the 2010 kites look nice it looks like they have done away with the geo tec for the helix so it creates it bit more pop and lift in the jumps, but hey the 09 boosts big and has enough pop in it so it sounds like the 2010 helix is more like the torch with a little more depower and probably better for wave riding than the torch.

Cant wait to try the new gear , A bomber when are we having a demo day?
Hopefully when its a bit warmer.

Ive got 09 9m and 12m helix's, get the 09's over the 08's. i had the 08 12m and the 09 is a much better kite- faster, easier relaunch and more power. Not all that happy with the swivel system though, the knot can get caught and the lines can tangle around the swivel system aswell, Saying that its only happened once though. Great kites.

I've got a 9 and 12 - great kites loads of grunt too the 9 nearly has as much grunt as my old 07 12m boxer. Heaps more floty in the jumps and anyone that's flown my kite has said they are very stable. Yeah the safety has been stuck a few times in its holder but that doesn't seem to happen anymore as I think the knot has stretched. Also when you crash one hard on the water I've had both kites fold up - the leading edge on one side gets stuck in the other and it's pretty hard to get it to pop back out unless you go back to the beach. Having said all that I'm stoked with them and they should last me years.

I have an 08 Helix, I bought it second hand for about 300 pounds a year ago. Its lots of fun to use and I enjoy it. It turns fast and can sometimes be hard to relaunch. My 12m is an 07 Boxer SLE which is due to be replaced this season with something with more grunt for jumps.

If people are saying the 09 Helix is streets ahead of the 08 then I would love to get an 09 12m!

I don't think you can go wrong with 08 Naish boards. probably what is left over is the least popular sizes and models anyway. I have an 07 Sol and I don't see a need to replace it in a hurry. The wood core design gives it a real snowboardy feel.

The deal has actually been extended to include 09 boards now so there is still a variety of sizes to choose from.
