I weigh 95 kg and fly a 14 rebel, my rebel has a huge wndange for my weight but over 25knots it requires to much hands on flying to control. I am thinking of getting a '07' 10m rhino for those special occasions. Has anyone got any experience with this kite???

I have flown one. It is a weapon, but it requires heaps more hands on than a Rebel does, so I dont think it is the kite for you, if that is the parameters you are setting yourself.

If you are a North fan, a Vegas would be better.

It does boost though, but it will bite.

wal ...by hands on I mean it's difficult to keep the kite parked in gusty strong winds. You can fly with one but I seem to be constantly have to put both hands on th bar to control it. I want to be able to just let the kite rip. With out depowering to much.

If you are happy with your rebel why not get a 10 or 8m rebel?

It's got plenty of bottom end and plenty of boost. More than rebel anyway.

I haven't come across a kite in the last few years that is difficult to keep parked, so am not sure we are taling about the same thing.

I just found that it is super fast and reactive so therfore can get to places you do not want it to be before you know ie after you have been dumped by a wave or stuffed up a trick.

Kind of like what used to happen on old c kites.

I am not bagging the kite it just doesn't suit my style (or lack there of)

well, I'm coming from the Fone Impacts and atm I only have the 10meter R07. I think the R07 is mellower and much easier kite than the Impacts. It does everything much better when hooked than Impact except 9impact is faster turner than 10 rhino and unhooked it might be heavier but I haven't had a chance to go unhooked due to busted shoulder. The 9rebel is everywhere very easily due to indirect feeling, but the r07 has more bar pressure and you really know where the kite is all the time. More powerful kiteloops than with Rebel but still very easy if you want them to be like that. With steady winds and flattish water I (78kg) can go upwind marginally with fast board (Jaime L) in 12knots and I've been out in over 30knots (gusts) so what a range! Awesome.

I'm 94kg and I've got a 14m Rhino 07 and a 9m Rhino 07. For me the 9m is good from about 20knots. I think it all depends on what type of riding you do. If you want to do some unhooked stuff and kiteloops, as well as big jumps, then I would definitely recommend the 9m rather than the 10m, particularly if you already have the 14m Rebel. As far as 'hands on' flying goes, I put my 9m on the slower setting and it's very stable in the air. The boosting is excellent.

yeh! I got the first unhooked session today, did a few s-bends and railys. Very good. The s-bends were powerful, I was flying so that my body was horizontal and could have easily landed blind but chose not to since I have some troubles with my shoulder and didn't want to do anything stupid =)
Kiteloops are excellent when hooked in, since it's so easy to make the desired arc and thefore the desired power and pull. Very easy to do high jumps with back loop kiteloop combo as the kite goes quickly enough to get up again and eases the landing.
To me the 10meter R07 is very close to one kite quiver, after having Skywalker light wind 135cm and Jaime Pro L boards. I weigh 75kg. Of course one at my weight needs a bigger kite when riding in chop/beach break etc. where you need grunt as this kite gets its 'grunt' from the speed.
Summa summarum; very easy nice kite. Haven't had a chance to test its relaunch capability after the kite is on its back 5th line deployed.

Hey Joe thanks for the feedback I think the Rhino is the way to go.
I han't thought through flying it on the forward setting ...does this effect the boost???

Rusty, moving the back lines to the forward (slow) setting, made the kite a little less responsive, which suits my riding style. But the 9m still flys really fast and therefore boosts really well. My 9m 07 Rhino definitely boosts better than my 10m 05 Rhino.

Did you see a pimp my kite as the tittle at the top of the page?

I'm tired of people thinking that a 4 line, bridled kite, with pulleys is the answer to everything. Some of us like 5-lines "hybrid" or "c-shape". Big thanks out to the companies that support us and a huge thumbs down to people who try and sell us something else.

I for one am saving the coin for a 10 and 14 rhino or rebel, and have no desire to buy a kite with a bunch of spaghetti hanging off it. I find threads like this informative. It's to bad people who think it's ok for a kite to invert to barge in and talk about something irrelevant.

Start a "my kite inverts and i don't care" thread and leave us poor simple 5 liners on our own, WE DON'T CARE!

Crazy Canuk has a point. My 14 rebel is my first kite. I love it. 5 lines is the way to go ... easy relaunch + total depower = enjoyable session everytime. I have no interest in even trying another style of kite really.
