what year TD are you talking about????

i have a TD 1 16 mtr.... its basicly my light wind kite... 9 to 15 knts...

i am generaly a fat bastard at 90+ kgs on a good day.... it pulls like a freeken truck.. but will get us heavy guys going in light wind..

as you would expect they are fairly slow for a big kite... but will turn heaps faster than a C kite of similar size.... ive used it in the surf on light days a few times and it works perfectly.

what do you need it for... where do you live?? and what are youre local conditions...

i would generaly go for a smaller kite and a bigger board.... but i,m in my third season now and very rarely use the kite.....

i would consider selling you my 16 as i dont use it very much... its in very near new condition.. they are great kites!!! very safe and very easy to use. pm me if ur keen....

happy to answer any questions you have.

cheers merman

There's a good chance you may get away with a 14m TD2 or even the 3 that is coming out. If you are on the larger side think of going for a bigger board and stick with a 14m - you'll get way more versatility out of it than a 16m.

I agree with Sunseeker. How much do you weigh? You will get more relative lift from a 14 then a 16. At 80kgs I can power myself better on an 11 then a 14 in light wind, size doesn't mean performance.

If it is the original TD I would be very reluctant to go for such a big size. The kite tends to be very top heavy and a bigger kite would multiply this and lead to inverts. I found the difference between the 14 and the 11 TD2 massive in regards to this, the 14 was so much more work to stop inverting after boosting and landing directly under the kite, where the 11 just flies backwards.

Hey Jester,
I've got the new Slingshot T3 14m demo at the moment.
Do yourself a favour, make sure you have a go on T3 14m before making up your mind.

It is designed as a no hassle light wind kite. I'm up and going on a medium size board in 10 knots, I'm 90kg.

Give me a ring if you want to know more.

im 105 - so a bit on the heavy side.

best lightwind baord ive ridden is the nobile skim board.

in light winds when its pretty sedate, its also fun to learn kiting without straps.
