It would be an alright low-wind kite. Don't use the bar that comes with it unless you like a heavy slow feel(I never use mine anymore)
a 17m mathced with a 12 would be a good fit but if you already have a 14 then to much overlap and if you only have 10m then there would be a gap.
Plus of the kite is that it is sturdy and can take a beating, Not sure how it flies with the one-line fifth added but would probably need it for relaunching as the kite is pretty big. I Think that the Rhino4 16 or Rhino5 16 have more range and higher jumps. But as you know there had been some issue with R4's leading edge, but they would have blown by now so if someone has one of those for sale that is still in good shape you should find the cost is even less then an 05 fuel.

The '05 Fuel 17 is an excellent kite. It has all the standard Slingshot features of design, strength, build quality and performance that rides have come to expect and rely on. All with the famous OnePump, SplitStrut and other construction innovations. At that price it is a steel !!!
It is noticeably quicker and more lively than the '04, with lots better boost. The only slight criticism of this kite package is that the standard bar with the 'center post' offers a lot of resistance to bar turning and makes the kite a little heavy to use, because of the post. This was true for the 15 as well. For some that is perfect as it parks the kite very well for wake style moves, turning needs to be more deliberate. Removing the post makes the bar pressure very light, which is great for everyone else. In OZ all our Fuel 17 stock came with 'posted bar' but we have been removing the post upon request by the retailers as they order stock.
For instructions on how to remove the post check out http://www.sskiteboarding.com/resource_center/instructions.htm
