as long as the line lengths are set up right it should be fine as that is all that matters

Your probably better off going for another makes bar. I love slingshot kites and have owned a few. however the below the bar depower sucks. Its near on impossible to pull the rope on when powered up. In saying that the flag out to one line is much safer than both front lines like some other brands.

How often do you trim your kite for that to be a problem? I love below the bar, keeps the trim strap from flapping around in your face.

I've used bws bars on slingy kites in the past. I personally prefer the slingy bar though.

pretty much any bar will work just adjust the line lengths if required.
All the kites I have owned from the old fuels to the new SLE have had bars that I have customised, mainly for simplicity. I like under the bar trim as I don't really use it anyway and 4 lines all the way to the bar with no safety line just clip onto the chicken loop as kites are so safe these days.
What im really trying to say is choose a bar you like and configure it to your own requirements. All bars work the same way

Yeah i like to trim my kite especially when riding overpowered and in gusty wind. Slingshot bar makes this impossible when there is high load on the kite. Probably has todo with the
Fact that it doesnt have any pulleys to help with the load like some other bars ie North/bandit
And many other above the bar setups.

Hooking onto the chicken loop is not good advise for a newbie. If something is to happen and they hit the safety and the leach is connect to the chicken loop you will lose your kite and may take someone out downwind of you. If you kite for many years you will need to hit that safety one day.....

my opinion.... octane not real good, slingy bar and lines are good

also every depower i've seen are 2 to1 including my old slingy ones that are 4 years old and still going strong, and my north which seem to last 1 year
