I can believe 4 knots. Foil boards are witchcraft. Foil kites love the apparent wind. Seem to remember someone on KF saying they'd managed two and half times the wind speed, so that'd be about 12 knots - easily rideable. Just don't fall over ;)

you right mate. as soon as you stop or far or try to tack its can be all over. Worst is jumping of the foil and finding your soft kite slowly folding into the water… then it wasn't worth the session

True. I guess you always have to make a choice - Perth with more wind in summer but over an hour to get to any decent surf breaks, or - East Coast with nicer lifestyle, climate and surfbreaks at you doorstep year round but with less wind in summer... it's always a trade off, both can be good.

I guess living down south WA could be pretty cool, I just don't know what the hell you do down there if it's there's no wind or waves haha, I guess it's most the same anywhere though.
