Has slingshot brought out a 5-line system yet?
Has anyone tried it with the 2004 fuel kites?
Also can you retrofit the 5-line system to a SS 2004 bar?
Does anyone have any good web sites on how to make a 5 Line system?
All response would be highly appreciated.
Thanks

I am planning to have a 5th line added to a 15M Fuel. I have been told it is possible & to use the pump loop as attachment point ? This is beach talk only so will be checking with SS before doing anything.
See :

Also been 'told' that Leon (ph SOS) is the man for the job but again not really sure ? Neil at "Hold the Line " kites is another possibility - worth asking.
Anyone out there know who does this sort of modification professionally ??

Thanks got this info from SS

The 5th Line accessory for Slingshot kites is about to arrive, should be available from next week.

It will retro-fit onto the '04 bar but you may want to replace the Chicken Loop rope at the same time if it is well worn as you need to use the outer case of this rope.

The shops have been waiting for these kits for some time and as soon as we get them we will let them know.

Remember that the 5th Line was developed by companies that have high AR kites which typically have canopy stability and re-launch problems. As Slingshot has never had either of these issues there has been no need to supply the kites with this feature. However there are some riders who are interested in putting up with the hassle of adding another line to gain a 'spin on centre' safety system. It is this feature that the 5th Line kit mainly provides as well as 100% depower and self-landing.

Reports of kite damage from the use of 5th line systems are increasing rapidly (especially in the surf), so the decision to use a 5th line as a cure-all needs to be taken seriously.

Please let me know if I can help you further.

I've seen a few guys who have attached the 5th line to the fuel 04's via the pump line attachment but they are only using it as a line to help with rolling the kite for faster relaunch. They dont use it to give the kite better performance or as a total depower safty line. On their kites the 5th line always has a bit of slack in it so it is not pulling on that tab at all until they pull the 5th line to help relaunch. IMO the tab isn't strong enough to have the 5th line tight to give better performance or as a total depower line (if you did it would probably rip the tab off the kite) You'd need to have a more secure tab properly stiched on to get the most use out of the 5th line.

Slingshots dont need '5th line option' for stability - thats a standard feature on every kite
