Second time out on my new 6m reo and again it punctured. Anyone else had this problem?

First time i got it to surf with it, it collapsed after about 20 mins. the centre strut had small slow leak. Took it home, patched it, repumped and again it leaked. From same point in bladder on opposite side, about halfway down- my guess is the fresh crinkly outer material was pinching on the bladder as it folded up for packing. Repatched it and pumped up fine- seemed sorted.

Then went out two days ago and this time kite collapsed completly after my first run out. When i got it home there was a finger sized blow-out hole in the end of the bladder. Patched that, repumped and bang, it popped immediately. Same size hole in same place at end of the bladder, just on opposite side. Patched that and seems it be holding pressure ok. Have packed it up and repumped a few times seems ok.

Could this just be a dodgy bladder? Or maybe the way i re-stuffed the bladder into the strut?

It seems to be an awesome kite, i'm just hoping the next time i really get to play with it

i would say it was the way you packed it back in on the bottom of the strut (kite ) is a piece of meterial generlly that gose in and the velcro bit sits on it NOT the bladder i have done the same and it was the velcro that was causing it to blow on the end cant help you with hole in the middel though . at least lock off the air to strut so you have something left in the remainer of kite to get ya home .

If you can get the kite to me I'll check it and fix it 100% for good. The blowouts at the end were definitely how you fitted the bladder. The small pinhole leak could have been anything the kite came in contact with or some rough handling when packing up the first time. All Ozone kites are test inflated at the factory, so I'd be fairly certain it never came with a hole in it.
Best advice I can give is to definitely block off the one pump system with the clips, every time.

thought the second session blow-outs might have been from my re-stuffing

the first pin-holes didn't come with the kite. I got to fly it once but wind dropped as i went out, before i got into the waves. No probs that time. They started the next time i took it out and had some runs through the surf. They were under a strongly creasing part of the outer strut material. I figured it was pinching the bladder

Seems i've sorted it, but if anything more i'll give you a call KP

Cheers
