Hey all

Im about to part with a great deal of hard earned dosh and would like to hear what owners of the dos kites think about the smaller kites
For me being 72kg with a twintip i would like to get going around 17/18 knots
I know the larger size dos kites have even better low end than the bandits but am unsure about the smaller sizes as well or have they been designed for a betetr top end

Any info appreciated

cheers

gday mate

go the 8m my dad owns one and hes about 78kg he loves it and he gets out on it in about 20knts with no probs but hes heavier than you and doesn't like to be under powered
so go with the 8m it has alot more hangtime than the 7m

I use the 9m2 as a one kite quiver
at 75kg its sweet at 17-20knots, at 15knots I need a surfboard to hold ground or use a twintip and do a coast run. at 25kn I'm fully lit and would prefer a 7m2.

if your getting two kites then a 7m2 and a 9m2 would be ideal

Hey Liam Dad's keen giving you access to his user name you could have some fun there hehe.
Yea I have the 8m also it's a great kite very grunty and quick I'm 90kg's and that baby pulls like a tractor in 20+ knts, 4 me 25 is the sweet spot.
The only problem your gonna have with this kite is getting it, good luck with that part.
But if you are lucky enough to get a new one you won't regret it.

hey flux,

i would said pulled more like a sports car not a tractor, cause their quick when those lines are tight, generate a fair pull through the harness and light on the bar

Hmmm Yea true but a tractor sounds tougher than a sports car, metaphorically speaking don't you think?
The sports car would be trashed if the tractor hit it kind of thing.
But yea either way it is the 2nd gruntest kite I have ever flown the 1st being the 2006 Fuels.........

Actually i enjoyed using last years 7.5 bandit (borrowed not owned) and wondered which is closer in size to that.. the 7m or the 8m?

And the next shipment of dos's will b in a few weeks so need to pre-order the right 1 b4 they all get snapped up

Mate it's 8m for the win , ring and order now! you'll probably find that in there projected shipment they have ordered 4 or 5 of each size and in reality they will get 1 or 2 if lucky especially the 8m it's snapped up pretty quick, and 1st in best dressed if your 2nd place in the back order line up you'll miss out.

one day people will learn that one man's 8m is another man's 7m! all kite makers 'tweak' the numbers to hit the low end grunt marks. get the one you like the most, actually get the one with best bar system for you.

I am 95kgs and have flown both sizes in upper and lower wind ranges the 8m is my favorite as on a larger twintip you can get going in around 16kts and the top end is huge still comfortable in 35kts+. I rode the 7.5m all last year and had never had a kite with as huge of a windrange the new 8m rides the same as that. Have also riden the 9m dos which is super grunty for a small kite took one out last week in 30+kts the ride was supper powered the whole time but if i came back in and droped a knot it would have been just right. We also have a couple of lads that ride the 10m as a 1 kite quiver as it gets them going in 14kts when it gets up to 25kts they just come back in and drop one or two knots and head back out to 30+.

Great kites hope they get some more in soon.
