Well i must say with the new and merged AKSA/WAKSA etc i thought i would finally signup . Paid online on monday and received my tag yesterday . Blown away by how much more improved it is with a central database and how quickly the tag got here .

Although like WETA said someone was on the piss while photocopying the welcome letter

hopefully this is a sign that there will be a much more organised AKSA

Database has always been centralised. Just noone to process it efficiently since Emma left.

What is good is that the state associations ARE the AKSA board. So everyone seems to be headed in the same direction.

Amen to that! But this system does what Emma did; ie coordinating and reconciling every states records every month - ie untold data entry hrs; in NO time. Its all just there from the minute you join. The pioneering days were a huge frustration. Emma would have died for a system like this.

YEAH - the message is getting through. From day dot AKSA was destined to become a group of well established state c'tees cooperating at national level to keep OZ kiting coordinated and efficient (= same direction).
It was only the efforts of individuals; in particular Mike Walker and Emma Gibbs; who kept it all happening when no-one else cared while the states got up to speed. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude. It was a huge pity their 5 years of consistent effort was soured by cruel and unnecessary criticism.
Step by step AKSA is becoming a far better service to kiting, to states and to members than it ever was but without that groundwork it would be nothing at all.
