The reason for the changes are to bring the organisational base of AKSA up to speed with all other similar sporting orgs (and others).
AKSA was pulled together originally; and administerd ever since; by a continually changing group of dedicated kiters who were prepared to put in the yards but who were not necessarily professionally versed in all the techno elements of organisational logistics. It has always been a simple "association incorporated".
Since the state KSA's came together in 2009 (or was it 08?) to create an AKSA which was for-ever onward to be administered by a board of one representative from each state KSA - making it a truly representative body of all Aust kiters - the states have managed to recruit AKSA reps who are far more organisationally savvy.
For the past 2 years the Board of state reps has been delving deeply into the structure of AKSA and have finally put together the most appropriate legal structure for a sporting organisation such as ours to adopt.
The adoption of this totally new AKSA framework is being celebrated by an equally new & up-to-date styled name.
AKSA is dead ALL HAIL Kiting Australia - long may she prevail.
Congrats to all the state KSA's & their reps for pulling this together.
You guys - and all those who passed before you Rock!

Wonderful, you have renamed yourselves. That's great.
One small thing
Are you going to arrange insurance cover like BKSA, or are Aussie kiters to continue with the same second rate coverage?
