Need a hand was thinking of buying the T3 for 1300 hundred brand new is that the best price? Or should i buy a 2007/08 link or rav for around 800 as i may crash it a few times. Am sure i will be a gun in no time though so don't want to be stuck with a slow beginner kite. will eventually be wave riding i suspect near margret river. Just want a good package at a good price, there's seems to be a bit of second hand gear around if it's in good nic will a 2007 9m do the trick for me 70kg.

Slow beginner kite? Just because it is comparatively noob friendly doesn't mean it lacks performance .

I have a TD2 9m and its an animal the slightest bar pressure sends the kite right across the window but I guess it's a relative thing because I always thought my 14m was fast compared to some other kites... then I got the 9m . I reckon you'd be the limiting factor in the case of a 9m being a beginner, not the kite, no offense. It is an epic kite, the wind range is awesome and it has some awesome low-end grunt and I must say it's given me a lot of confidence and has got me out of some pretty dodgy situations.

If you want waves then TD's are the go, the depower on them is incredible so you can actually use the power of the wave to a greater extent.

What is the average wind speed where you kite?

1300 is a good price from what I've compared it to.

thats a great price for a new kite and they have one of the largest wind ranges.you could do worse.
rev 9m [08] awsome kite might be a bit too fast for you starting out. switchblade would be another option.

keep away from the links.they are a pain in the ass to re launch and they are very heavy.it's a pretty common thing to see them fall out of the sky when the wind drops below 15kts.The T3 might be better as it is a newer model. Also keep away from the north rebel kites. these kites invert on themselves when jumping. people will tell you this is crap but i've seen it happen with my own eyes and have been told by a rebel owner it happens all the time.

I'd go the T3

You will have a 12month warranty, and most guys wont want to sell their 08' 9m rev for less than $1200.

The T3 has a much better safety system than the T2

i bought the T2 11mtr as my first kite last year and its been fantastic. being a beginner i have given this kite an absolute beating and its still in great condition. relaunch is effortless but also very safe. even if it comes right through the power zone just let the bar out and you will just hop forward a few feet. and landing is simple as. just sit it at the edge of the window and pull hard on the top middle line and the kite just flips with the leading edge facing the wind. The T3 is even safer with the flagging line bellow the bar..I cant really compare with other kites as i have only flown this and a best waroo which was also a great kite.. the main difference i noticed was the waroo has a much lighter bar pressure..but my T2 launched a lot easier.. i weigh about 100kgs and kite on the mid north coast and find the 11 just great from 12knts to 25knts anything above that i crap myself..
