Hey,

Ok so I have been busting out some backloops and have got the feeling dialed pretty well, now I want to apply it to a transition... the only problem I am finding is that when i backloop the kite has no power to keep me going back the other way.

I am bringing the kite back the opposite way before i pop and i feel the kite pulling me in the opposite direction mid air but when I land it has nothing...

I am riding a 12m rebel if that helps.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Kill your forward speed, any momentum in the orginal direction absorbs power developed from diving the kite in the new direction.

my technique is slowly move the kite back to 12 o'clock, pop the backloop then dive the kite agressively in the opposite direction. Diving the kite hard ensures that you are landing with good momentum. Once you get that dialled it's an easy progression to a "low" powered backloop kiteloop

Look over your shoulder

Seriously this is important as hell!!!
If you got a beginner behind you with there kite tipping the ocean, and you do your transition, watever it may be, especially a back roll your gunna go up and your going weeeeeeee....BANG and your in a kite.
You might just go into it and flop of you could get your boards fins slice the canopy
or your leg caught in a bridle and beginner goes ahhh and pulls his kite up.
ALWAYS LOOK OVER YOUR SHOULDER

I can only do a back roll transition if I slow right down, bring the kite to 12, do a nice slow backroll and then downloop the kite to pull me in the other direction.
