Well found Hurrah.........Hurrah!

Looks like it will fit Cab. X-Bow.........well done, great improvement, cost please?

Also, check out the SS system, theirs will fit the X-Bow but seeking large $....something over $500 Kangas with lines.

Hope Cab. comes up with something better than what they have now.

That's funny....'Bungee Load Reduction System'

(A techo name for a length of bungee rubber).

The kite-wimps will love that one.

There is almost as many pulley's, bell's & cranks in an aircraft control system as there is in that bar !

This add's to my point about bow kite's... If you need something that complicated to fly it, jeeze !

Simplicity is best...

nick whats the matter with the bow bar. They are the same concept the SS, airush and crossbow, Only thing that might be a little different is the geometry. Do you just want a solution to the bar pressure?

Doesnt look to bad in that pic

First Halo's should be in Australia week after next. I will definately have them at Mambo then for demos in most states of Australia.

Pricing still being fine tuned should be announced by Tuesday. (Should be cheaper than Crossbow)

Bow kites aren't for everyone, yes the bars are more complicated, but they don't work properly without the pulleys etc. with added complexity not a beginers kite.

Hey Carbs

Below are my issues with the bar

1. Ratchet system not needed, smooth and simple strap would be good enough.

2. Spinning: The metal swivel standard with X-Bow does not spin along as it should. The SS swivel and the one on the new Airrush bar are better.

3. Leash: The loop to attach the leash needs to be reachable by a normal person.

4. Stopper ball: needs to be adjustable so that you can control at what pressure it kicks out. Riders weights and skill levels are so very different.

5. Power lock/bungee: when on long tacks or in steady winds, you need to be able to lock yourself in (this feature is coming from Cab.

Yea, I'm a wimp, love progress and am not afraid of change and comfort. Some people do prefer not to shave or rub their face on a tree, rather than use the complexity of a razor.

PS Vert, I reserve the right to disagree with IG about it not being a good beginners kite; I actaully think it is. And finally, as I am sick and tired of "gear" talk, and will make this my last comment on the virtues of Bow kites.

I believe I have ridden the first commercially released x-bow in Australia. This kite has allowed me to ride all Winter and be out in some very nasty conditions, the "mechancis" just need to be improved, and that is happening.

Hurrah, Yes, we will let you know when they arrive, pricing and will update our demo schedule as we confirm locations standuppaddlesports.com.au/

Vert, I personally think that the hype about Bow kites being safer is untrue. I think they give a greater feeling of safety, but if they go wrong (as with any kite) they get ugly. As with any kite they should never be flown without a leash. Main thing is to respect the power of the kite and understand what can go wrong.

We are still bringing in more Airush C kites into Australia this year than Bow kites. 2007 and 2008 may well be different, that is one of the exciting things about our sport, we don't know what is just around the corner.

Thanks,

Ian Grose

Is it an illusion ??

Two kites on the water.....
One is a flat kite, the other a C kite.
The size of both kites is the same (say 12m).

Why is it that the flat kite looks enormous compared to the C kite ?

Are you kidding 'slave? The flat "bow" kite looks enormous because it's FLAT, while the C kite wastes a good chunk of it's 12m on wingtips. Most kite's these days use flat sail area rather than projected area to describe size.
a cabrinha crossbow 12M (flat) would have a projected area of ~11M.
15M (flat) slingshot fuel has a projected area of 11M.
A flysurfer speed 10M (flat) has a projected area of 9M. (but as much go as a 15m tube)
Make sense?

well about putting a leash on the kite I do.
I attach it to the chicken loop where it has the conection as I hve found that some times on any kite the chicken loop unhooks even with a dick in place so just in case yuou dont notice it at all and handy if you wanna unhook
Ok I have to go eat a bucket of food as my harness does not fit me any more lol bye

Its got a break doubler,

I was thinking of putting one on my old arc to take up the slack in my break lines. From my readings the PL guys used this idea to take up the slack in the standard PL arcs to make them turn faster, they droped the idea 4-5 years ago ( complicates the bar and didnt work too well) and as the later model PL kites didnt have the slack in the break lines it wasnt required.

I'm wondering that if you tune the kite so the lines so its powered up with the bar in, then won't the break lines have twice the slack when depowered and be twice as sloppy to turn.

I saw one of these Halo's out at Dutchies about 3-4 weeks ago. Must have been a prototype...looked just as it does in the photos.
The bloke dropped it in the drink and had a nice swim in. Not a good advertisement for the kite.

i did demo today on 10m. Bar pressure is much lower than Crossbow. Bungee reduces lots of bar pressure.

That's good with the bungee...another replacement part that can be sold..clever, and can you get bungee with different elasticity?

Can you lock in, and if you can...how does it steer? I found the power lock on the X-Bow made the steering quite sluggish.

Bungee was used buy the Torquay crew within days of the crossbows arriving.

Sort of like the solution an outback mechanic would come up with.

I am hoping geometry will replace gimickry.

Maybe the designers need to be made aware of Occams razor.

No I dont dreary bleary... I've challenged you to this once before, find where I'm slagging the product ?, you cant cause I'm not !... I admit for a long time I've been a hardline "C" kiter... I openly welcome the "BOW" kites however I've not been happy with the bar setups and their claims their "THE" safest kite on the market !

Simple as that bleary twat !

Challenged ?

You are certainly challenged! Intelectually !

You just agree with others bashing !You criticise for the sake of it.

Yes,it IS "THE" safest kite on the market.

You only post to try to promote your favourite product ,the " Hellfishwakarroo" or whatever weird name is the go now !

Why the name calling? Does calling me a "twat" make you feel superior ? It just shows you for what you really are !
YOU certainly are not "too complicated"

Anyone that finds any current flat kite bar "too complicated" must be pretty dopey !
