I'm going to Thailand next month and are going to buy a new kite and board while over there. Looking to get either a 12m Cabrinha or 12m Airush and a board to go with it. I'm kind of in the intermediate stage , just starting to land a few jumps ,no tricks yet. Currently have a Liquid Force kite and Lithium board which I don't think I'm agressive enough to use ( the board that is).I need some advice on what to buy... cheers

I ride a cabrinha Nitro and have had other cabrinhas before. I find them to be very durable, inventive, efficient, rate high in performance and damn good looking. All I look for in a kite and also two of my favorite riders Andre Phillip and Martin vari rides them. Two of the most highly creative riders on a kite. I have riden the New lift 10mt and found them to have alot of lift but the lines that came with stock standard felt really long, which makes landing at that hight alot trickier for me. But Im sure you can get use to that after a while.
Both kites have enormous boosting capabilities, but as a package Cabrinha has all the fruit in the basket. Have fun in Thailand...

I haven't flown any Cabrinha's so can't comment. I have however flown the Airush Lift 12 quite a bit this season. The kite, just like the 10m, boosts great and also hangs nicely. It has a lot more bottom end power than last years 11.5 which a lot of the guys are enjoying. It means less working of the kite in the lighter winds.

If you feel you aren't so aggressive with boards an Airush Switch would probably suit you better than an Airush Compact, the two main boards in the line-up this season. Not sure you're body weight so unsure which size you'd be after. I rode the 135 a few times, these boards are really soft under your feet giving a super smooth cruising feel. Also gentle on the waves and upon landing. I found the softness of the board however didn't reduce it's edging capability, I felt solid all the time. Also really forgiving in marginal winds, not sinking the minute power leaves the kite. I personally went a compact cos I do like to bully the board a bit and show it who's boss, this board responded better to me...

Hey Thomo , I am going to keep the board , I think its more the kite , I don't have a problem holding my wind but soon as I try to go up wind it dies in the arse and I start wadding through the water.
