I just got back from two awesome weeks of kiting in Aitutaki. This has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world I have ever been to and well worth the trip for anyone who is planning an overseas kiting holiday. I will post a little more information and a review when I get a bit more time but anyone who is planning a trip there and would like some more information feel free to drop me a PM. I will be more than happy to share what I know.

I hear yeah, had 18 days there in late July, so much wind. This was my third trip there and past trips have not been as windy or as consistent as this year. Locals where saying that this is what it was like before cyclone Pat hit 2010. I even brought and took a 16m over this year, never saw the light of day....

Depends on what you like, you could do 3 weeks for 2.5k if you wanted. Airfares $1000, single accommodation $800, scooter hire $315, boats $250.

Share accommodation would make it cheaper.

Not using the lagoon taxi and kiting to the outer islands/kite centre is possible and would save more money.

Food and drinks are up to you but you have to eat whether you are there or at home.

Probably dearer from your side of the country but then you have Cocos on your doorstep, similar setup

If costs are a major issues then there are probably better cheaper options and other places to go for a holiday from this side of the country, Bali or Vietnam.
